Doll Challenge

Good morning..... whew! I never had such a difficult time with making the head for a doll as I did with this doll.... I hate the head pattern and I definitely should have used another fabric.... the fabric I used was totally not suited to the pattern... There were no pictures for the challenge pattern.. You were to just wing it and I'm betting there will be some really spectacular dollies. Well, since I just got married (6 weeks), the wedding gown and train came to mind. I used old left over fabric and embroidered lace left over from when I made custom wedding gowns. I kind of miss the work, but I hope to make more dolls to wear my dress designs....we'll see. Remember I said "Olivia" wasn't much to look at....that's right she does have a name! Well, I not sure that she looks much better.... not happy with the face....Anyhoo here she is!

Orange Crush Progress

Okay....I am slow....very slow. Last week I had an operation to help with the pain stimming from the brachial plexus in my right arm....sooooo I feel better! Progress on the mystery quilt is that all blocks are made...not joined.....and here is a picture of my dollie; while she is not much to look at right now, hopefully she will be finished soon!

Orange Crush

Whew...Early to rise for our morning walk (2.5 miles)...lol...not far but it's a start. The operation I had on Thursday has done me worlds of good....no pain for now, but I am making the most of it! Soooo after our walk, we went to breakfast and then to two movies....first "The Incredible Hulk" and then "Indiana Jones"....both good movies.... I really was happy to see Robert Downey Jr at the end of the "Hulk"....could it be.....I hope so!!! Now back home to work on some of my stuff....so first I'll post the OC progress pics....really lime/grape going on here! Also I swapped wonder wallets (lazygirldesigns) in a new yahoo group "sewing bags and purses"...and here are some of those pics... I received such wonderful gifts from both Carol and Maggi...thank you very much ladies! Carol made the cute little round-around bag (another lazygirldesign) and Maggi gifted a beautiful "Laurel Burch" pattern ww! All very much appreciated! I sent Maggi a scaled down version of the "Miranda" (lazygirldesigns) along with her ww! What fun I've been having! It is late in this day and after looking at the blocks on the design wall all day and after photographing a single album block, you would think that I would have seen it myself.....noooooo, my dd pointed out to me that one of the album blocks was made with one of the inner points facing the outside, not the inside! Well, it's no wonder I chose that block to photograph...there was something wrong with it!!!! Well, I will post the corrected block tomorrow.....lol....the block is already frogged amd reversed!!!!! lol....

Orange Crush

More time on my hands.....UPDATE ON ORANGE CRUSH, the current mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter at quiltville.com ... click on the post title to go directly to step 6... meanwhile here are a couple pics. My dd wanted a lime green and purple quilt, so I had to toss aside the orange star blocks and make purple star blocks....oh well...the album block is purple as well....post that pic later...

Fiber On A WHim!

I am marking time until I have to leave for the surgery today and I thought I would leave a comment in hopes that those of you who do visit or happen by would think about contributing to breast cancer research. I found "Fiber on a Whim" through someone's blog while blog hopping awhile back and a couple weeks ago I read one of their newsletters:

You can make a difference!!
Fiber on a Whim has decided to take the Atlanta Breast Cancer Challenge put forth by It's the Journey, Inc. Simply make a 5 x 7” piece of art using whatever medium you wish and donate it to Brazenly Radiant Art (BRA) sponsored by Fiber on a Whim for
It’s the Journey, Inc!

I did make and submit (4) small pieces and ohhh one pic is missing..oops ... if you go to www.fiberonawhim.com/gallery.html or just click on the title of this post, you can view the wonderful pieces and perhaps make a bid or make a donation.... Anyhoo, enjoy the site!
